introduction of the more than 6.6 billion people on earth it is not at all known what percentage are children of god who have accepted christ as their saviour. the best estimates will be wrong. all we can say, not only from experience, but also from the word of god, is that the percentage will be very small indeed. as christ says in luke, chapter 10, verse 2:
the harvest is humongous, by far the greatest percentage of nearly 7 billion souls! if the saved christians on earth were able to be instrumental in converting these billions of non-believers and 'dormant' christians (who are only christians for statistical / census purposes), only then will the time be ripe of which the apostles asked christ in the gospel according to mark
and he answered them
it stands to reason that there is a lot of work to be done. providentially for us saved by the infinite grace of god, we do not stand alone in this quest, for he has endowed his holy spirit with the power to work the wonder of salvation in every person - our efforts by themselves would be doomed to failure. |
